Program Support Specialist

The Program Support Specialist at SOLID directly supports the SkillBridge Program. The Program Support Specialist will perform tasks such as telephone and email customer service, basic data entry and analysis, summarizing and replying to client and customer communications, creating reports, and related clerical work as needed.

This role will utilize databases and data sources such as DOD and Military Service Instructions and Policies. In addition to their primary duties, a Program Support Specialist might be called upon to research various military and civilian occupations as well as credentials and certifications using O*NET and occupational training documentation.

This role is well-suited for an individual with a Military background looking for an opportunity to advocate and support Service Members transitioning out of Military Service.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, categorizes, and replies to client and customer requests via email and phone; create and route service tickets with speed and accuracy.
  • Performs data entry and research, as required, to troubleshoot and resolve customer problems or to gather information.
  • Provides accurate and timely level one customer support with speed and professionalism, providing general information, answering questions, and resolving or routing issues, as necessary.
  • Uses knowledge of the SkillBridge program or other assigned areas to respond to inquiries and/or to forward for the appropriate level of support.
  • Compiles, reviews, evaluates, and organizes documents/applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintains database of accounts and client interaction records; includes details of inquiries, complaints, comments, and resolutions.
  • Conducts basic writing to support quality assurance, record keeping, information sharing, and training activities.
  • Performs basic research and analysis related to military occupations and credentialing, including job/task analysis, occupational classifications/coding, skills analysis, and training needs analysis.
  • Attends trainings and participates in learning opportunities to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities in work related areas.
  • Focuses on personal growth of knowledge, skills, and abilities by working as part of a team in a collaborative environment that encourages open communication and idea sharing.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • One to Three (1 – 3) years’ experience in providing customer service and program management to the Military Community.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Public Policy, Social Science (or related fields) is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with Military Human Resources and Separation processes and programs.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment handling simultaneous requests and priorities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Research and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with the Transition Assistance Program, SkillBridge, and/or Career Skills Programs a plus!
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
